Stockly – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 1, 2026
Last Updated: September 25, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Stockly ("Stockly", "the App", "we", "us", or "our").

Stockly is an inventory management application designed to help users manage inventory items, categories, batches, quantities, transactions, and related records.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your inventory information under your control.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Stockly may access or process, how that information is used and stored, which third-party services are involved, and the choices available to you.

Stockly does not operate its own cloud servers for storing your inventory records. Your inventory data is primarily stored locally on your device. If you choose to use Google Drive backup, your backup data is encrypted on your device before it is uploaded to your Google Drive.

2. Information We Handle

2.1 Inventory Data

Depending on how you use Stockly, you may enter information such as:

This information is referred to in this Privacy Policy as "Inventory Data."

How it is used

Inventory Data is used solely to provide the core functionality of Stockly, including inventory management, calculations, searching, reporting, and backup and restore functionality when enabled by you.

Where it is stored

Inventory Data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database.

Stockly does not intentionally transmit your Inventory Data to servers operated by the Stockly developer for storage, advertising, profiling, or analytics.

3. Local Data Storage and Encryption

Stockly is designed with local-first data storage.

Your Inventory Data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database using SQLCipher and AES-based database encryption.

The encryption keys are protected using the device's secure storage mechanisms where supported by the operating system.

Stockly may also use a user-selected PIN or security code to protect access to the application.

The exact security mechanisms may vary according to the operating system and application version.

Important

The security of your local information also depends on the security of your device. We recommend using a secure device lock, keeping your operating system updated, and not sharing your application PIN or device credentials with others.

4. Google Account and Google Drive Backup

Stockly provides an optional Google Drive backup and restore feature.

You are not required to use Google Drive to use the core local inventory functionality of Stockly.

When you choose to connect a Google account for backup or restore, Stockly may access information necessary to authenticate the account and provide the requested backup functionality.

This may include:

Stockly uses the Google Drive drive.file permission for its backup functionality.

This permission is intended to allow the App to work with files created or used by Stockly rather than providing unrestricted access to unrelated files in your Google Drive.

Stockly does not request your Google account password.

Authentication is handled through Google's authentication services.

5. Encrypted Google Drive Backups

When you enable Google Drive backup, Stockly encrypts the backup data on your device before uploading it.

Backup files are intended to be stored in your Google Drive in an encrypted form.

The developer does not intentionally receive an unencrypted copy of your inventory database through its own servers.

Stockly does not use the contents of your Google Drive backup for:

Google may process account information, file metadata, authentication information, and other information necessary to provide Google Drive and Google account services. Such processing is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policies.

6. Google API Limited Use

Stockly's use of information obtained through Google APIs is intended to comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google user data accessed by Stockly is used only to provide functionality requested by the user, such as authentication, backup, and restore.

Stockly does not use Google user data obtained through Google APIs for advertising, advertising personalization, or user profiling.

Stockly does not sell Google user data.

7. Advertising – Google AdMob

Stockly may use Google AdMob to display advertisements.

Depending on the user's location, device settings, consent choices, and applicable requirements, Google AdMob may process information such as:

Purpose

Advertising-related information may be used for:

Where required by applicable law or Google requirements, Stockly may use Google's consent mechanisms to request and manage consent for personalized advertising.

Your advertising choices may affect the type of advertisements displayed to you.

Stockly does not use your Inventory Data or Google Drive backup contents for advertising personalization.

For more information about Google's privacy practices, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

8. Firebase Crashlytics

Stockly may use Firebase Crashlytics to identify application crashes, diagnose technical problems, and improve application stability.

Crashlytics may automatically collect technical information such as:

Crashlytics may also process developer-defined logs, keys, or other diagnostic information if the application sends such information as part of a crash report.

Stockly's purpose for using Crashlytics is technical diagnostics and application stability.

Stockly does not intentionally send Inventory Data, inventory item contents, or the contents of encrypted Google Drive backups to Crashlytics.

For additional information about Firebase's data practices, please refer to Firebase's Privacy and Security documentation.

9. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect for Our Own Servers

Stockly does not intentionally collect or maintain on Stockly-operated servers:

Stockly does not operate a general-purpose cloud database containing users' inventory records.

10. Data Sharing

Stockly does not sell your personal information or Inventory Data.

Stockly may rely on third-party service providers required to provide specific application functionality, including:

Google

Used for:

Firebase

Used for:

These third-party services process information according to their respective terms, policies, and technical requirements.

Stockly does not authorize third parties to use your Inventory Data for advertising or independent marketing purposes.

11. Data Security

Stockly uses technical measures designed to protect your information, including:

However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, application PIN/security code, Google account, and other credentials used to access your information.

12. Data Retention

12.1 Local Data

Your local Inventory Data remains on your device until you delete it through the App, remove the App, or otherwise erase the device data.

The exact behavior of local data after uninstalling the App may depend on your device operating system and backup settings.

12.2 Google Drive Backups

Backup files stored in your Google Drive remain there until they are deleted by you or removed by Stockly according to the backup management and retention functionality available in the App.

If Stockly automatically manages backup history, older backup copies may be removed according to the retention rules implemented in the current version of the App.

You may also be able to manually manage or delete Stockly backup files through the App or your Google Drive account, depending on the available functionality.

13. Deleting Your Data

Stockly provides controls intended to allow you to manage and delete your information.

Depending on the current version of the App, these controls may include:

Deleting the App from your device does not necessarily delete backup files that have already been stored in your Google Drive.

If you want to remove your Google Drive backups, they should also be deleted from your Google Drive or through the applicable Stockly deletion functionality.

14. Google Account Disconnection

You may disconnect your Google account from Stockly through the available application settings.

Disconnecting the account stops Stockly from using that account for future backup or restore operations until you authenticate again.

Disconnecting the account does not necessarily delete existing files from Google Drive.

If you want existing backup files removed, they must also be deleted through the available deletion controls or from Google Drive.

15. Children's Privacy

Stockly is not directed to children.

We do not knowingly design the App to collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information through Stockly in a manner that should not have occurred, please contact us using the information provided below.

16. International Processing

Stockly itself does not operate a general-purpose cloud server for storing your Inventory Data.

However, third-party services used by the App, including Google services and Firebase, may process information on servers located in different countries.

Such processing is governed by the applicable privacy policies, terms, and data protection commitments of those providers.

17. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal information, which may include:

Because most Inventory Data is stored locally on your device or in your personal Google Drive, you can often manage or delete that information directly through the App, your device, or Google Drive.

For questions or requests concerning privacy, you may contact us using the contact information below.

18. Third-Party Privacy Policies

Stockly uses third-party services whose privacy practices are governed by their respective policies.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

When this policy is updated, the Last Updated date at the beginning of this document will be changed.
